Library

We have a computerized library, which is kept open from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all working days. All students of the college are members of the college library. A student is permitted to borrow two books at a time. Books may not be retained by a student for more than 14 days; a fine of Rs 50 will be relevied for each student per week for delay in returning books. The Librarian may recall a book at any time even when normal period of loan is not over. A Xerox machine is provided in the library. Documents can be photocopied at a nominal rate. Students can avail the internet facility in the library at any time. Marking in books, spoiling or causing damage to binding, paper, etc. is punishable. If a book is lost the matter should be immediately reported to the librarian.

Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility, a digital database of materials such as text files, e-books, journals, etc. is available in our library. Koha the open-source integrated fully featured, scalable library management system is also operated. The benefits of Koha, are numerous such as centralized management, improved access, easy cataloging, efficient circulation, real-time reporting, multi-lingual support, interoperability, community support, and security. E-resources like NList is available.

A Career Corner is maintained in the library to help by providing job overviews that facilitate informed choices in teaching profession. It tries to enhance employability through higher education, teach relevant skills wanted by employers in 2021 and beyond as well as create opportunities to enhance student employability skills. A career should be chosen with utmost care, thought, and planning. As individuals have different innate capacities and abilities and hence aptitudes for different kind of work, the purpose of Career Guidance is to match the individuals and the occupation optimally for mutual benefits for lifelong learning and job satisfaction.
